Making Love…Last. [sermon from Crosspoint]
In GET SERMONS HERE, Watch This on November 29, 2009 at 3:46 amI had the amazing honor and privilege to preach at Crosspoint Church in Alabama [where they play some football too...] a few weeks ago. Crosspoint has been an amazing supporter of Mission West and for some reason liked me enough to invite me back!
Dave Anderson is doing something that I don’t know of anyone else doing…he is partnering with God to plant a church that meets in a movie theater as a bi-vocational pastor and blowing it up. From 275 to almost 600 people in the last year or so and they are set to do even greater things as God leads.
A HUGE shout out to my family in Bama land…and a big ROOOOLLLLL TIDE!!!!! Dave, Dana and the Crosspoint crew: LOVE YOU ALL BEYOND WORDS!
Here is the sermon I was blessed to give. And yes, I do say something about the male anatomy in this teaching. Be forewarned.

Worship Wars on My Blog…
In Watch This, worship on October 30, 2009 at 4:54 pmSo people are hitting me with different versions of REVELATION SONG after I posted another amazing version earlier this week. So, I tracked this suggested one down, and DANG. WOW. SMACK. I keep listening over and over in this coffee shop and I know people must think I am weird as I am bobbing all around with my mac on my lap.
If you need a lift toward the throne this Friday...turn the lights down, center yourself on Christ, CRANK UP THE VOLUME and sing like you are freaking saved while in the shower with no one around but Jesus.
If you have others that will make me tear up which is a VERY RARE thing…just being real with you…hit me. We’ll put ‘em to the test.
this will give you chills…
In Watch This, worship on October 29, 2009 at 6:01 amLove me some REVOLUTION SONG. Totally about my GOD. The amazing team @ New Spring might have pulled it off better than anyone. Great video and audio for this beast. I just keep playing it over and over. HOLY, HOLY, HOLY…is the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!

In prayer, Watch This on October 22, 2009 at 5:28 pmDid you see this? I don’t even want to say what fully happens…but MY JAW FLIPPING DROPPED several times during this report.
As a former cop…I would have busted a cap in someone pointing a gun at me…BUT THIS IS TRUE FAITH IN ACTION!
”A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” [john 13.34-35.niv]
When HELL jumps on your back.
In Devotional, prayer, spiritual battle, Watch This on October 10, 2009 at 3:28 pmMany times we don’t even know, think, BELIEVE that HELL is all around us, ready to take us out.
We are in a BATTLE. We are in a WAR for our hearts and the hearts of our families. Many times we are on fire and don’t even realize it. We are caught up in attack, caught up in a slippery slope, or just immersed in sin totally unaware or aware and we are OK with it.
That’s why we must stay connected TIGHT with our Savior. That’s why we need a team around us. That’s why we need accountability. That’s why we need a BAND OF BROTHERS or SISTERS. To have our backs, to point out sin, to steer us in the right direction so that when EVIL ATTACKS, God can do what HE PROMISES and use it FOR GOOD!
“11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” [Ephesians 6.11-13.niv]
”22 Plans go wrong for lack of advice; many advisers bring success.” [Proverbs 15.22.nlt]
We still need some WARRIORS for this LIFE AND DEATH team. ARE YOU IN?
Can a sermon be SCRIPTURE ONLY with no commentary? I almost did it…check it.
In Watch This on July 23, 2009 at 8:22 pmIf you have 28 minutes…check out this message. After the 7 minute mark of explaining what I would be doing that weekend with the message, the entire rest of the message is 100% SCRIPTURE. You read right…
No commentary, no jokes, no explaining. Just you and the WORD.
Maybe if more of my sermons were this way, tons of people would get saved as they were last weekend.
So…if you want some time to bask in the power of the WORD without me messing up HIS WORD…check this out. I promise it will be worth it because it’s not a sermon that I wrote…I stole it all from the WORD.
Thanks to Dave, Crosspoint and their tech team for getting this recorded. Great work everyone.
This yankee almost got booed off the stage in my first teaching opportunity…
In Sermon Series, Watch This on April 9, 2009 at 4:01 amHere is the teaching that explains how 4 different people or groups of people helped changed eternity…and I bet you haven’t heard of most of them. They are the “Un-Sung Heroes” who don’t get the headlines in Scripture.
Find out how this yankee survived my first southern exposure. It was actually a ton of fun…these people are crazy and remind me of the crazies @ New Hope!
Ordinary people like you who choose to do the extraordinary!
Watch it…then be a hero and ENGAGE!

Whose message is LOUDER?
In Christ and Culture, creativity and the church, Watch This on February 6, 2009 at 1:39 pmI wrote a post on this kind of inspiration earlier HERE. Check it first, then take the time to watch the effort, creativity, passion, drive and money that it must have taken for these groups to get THE LOUD MESSAGE THAT THEY WANT OUT THERE.
Now, track that with this ?: How do we present the dangerous message of Christ that is timeless truth in a way that would make deaf ear and hearts SPRING TO LIFE? It’s not EITHER/OR in the church. It’s BOTH/AND.
We must present the TIMELESS TRUTH. And we must allow the AUTHOR OF ALL CREATIVITY AND PASSION to make us care more than MTV about HIS MESSAGE. WHICH SHOULD BE THE LOUDEST!
