2 Words That Will Cure Discouragement.

In Uncategorized on July 15, 2010 at 10:46 am

Need some encouragement today?

We have been through one of the darkest years of our lives. So glad God knows what he is doing. [Not that my faith always believes that fully, but I try my best!]

We had 4 weeks to: move and also start preview services from scratch. We didn’t have a logo, a pro-presenter, a light, a mic. We only had Jesus. So since Jesus would have used pro-presenter and sent out a mailer:)…we have been furiously working to let people know about Jesus.

We started with a cooler, a box of pens and a guitar. COME ON STICKS PEEPS! We are in this together! No staff, no money, no momentum, set-back after set-back…I am there with you right now!

We are still pushing as hard as ever to not only be IN the community to show them the LOVE of Jesus [Sunday morning outreaches have happened and are planned. When else are you going to reach unsaved and non-LDS people?] We desire to be in the community FIRST, but also to draw a launch team through our preview gatherings on July 25th and August 1st. So we are pushing hard on that end this past month.

There is some momentum, but dang it has been a long year and a half! THANK YOU for those who support us in PRAYER and FINANCIALLY. We would be sunk without you. You encourage us and keep us pushing on!

Oh yeah, the CURE FORĀ DISCOURAGEMENTĀ I promised:

The Lord sent me these 2 words this morning. It is 2 words that will truly burn a fire in your soul, so here they are:

HEBREWS 11

Read it. And may you be encouraged wherever you find yourself at this very minute! I promise these 2 little words [that lead to a few more words] will cure whatever GIANT you are facing right now.

  1. Pastor Charles my encouragement came yesterday !! Working in my Beauty Salon. Bonnie called, she needed a new doo! I had a cancellation. Bonnie comes in at 4:00. I went to the reception area to get her. She looked tired and weak. Bonnie, I said can I help you? Sure.. I took her, arm in arm back to my station. Consulted about her new style, talked, shampooed, and while I was inventing the new Bonnie, she shared her story..
Bonnie was very recently taken OFF, the Kidney Transplant List. Her heart isn’t strong enough for surgery !!! She had just left the hospital, from having kidney dialysis. Directly to me. As she continued to share with me in a very quiet voice. She would need to have dialysis for the rest of her life, and all of the other physical problems she has had, along with failing kidney’s.. I looked her straight in the eyes and asked her. Bonnie, how are you getting through all of this??
She simply replied, with My Lord !!!
When Bonnie said that, I through my arms in the air!!!And with a BIG smile on my face I said, Bonnie that’s what I hoped you would say !!!! I am so happy that she has Jesus Christ in her life !!
Because, with Him, Bonnie has Hope!
He is always with her and will never, never, never leave her!
I invited her and family and friends to a Worship Event, in Aug, and she said it will be on her calendar of (to do’s).
I look forward to seeing “My Encourager” that night!! I’m guessing dressed to the nine’s. and Hair looking heavenly, of course.
Charles I pray God sends you and the One Community Church a lot of Encouragers. We never know what the next Angel may look like! Peace, Brother Don

  2. BY FAITH…Hebrew 11: 1-Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see…BY FAITH… Hebrews 11:40-God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect….BY FAITH!

  3. I relate to this post..this has been a hard year for my family…….the victories have all come from Jesus and we have been grateful to witness Him do wonderful things all around us.Everyone in ministry (and life for that matter) will face trials and difficulties …..that’s why the Word is SO important…I appreciate your Hebrews 11 posting……this ,from Hebrews 10 got me through alot!!!….blessings…..

Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you stood your ground in a great contest in the face of suffering. 33Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated. 34You sympathized with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions.

35So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. 36You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. 37For in just a very little while,
“He who is coming will come and will not delay.
38But my righteous one[f] will live by faith.
    And if he shrinks back,
I will not be pleased with him.”[g] 39But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved.
