How to have undistracted prayer in 1 sentence.

In Uncategorized on May 24, 2010 at 8:35 am

Some of us are borderline “ADD” as Christians. We blame our lack of focus on being “ADD.”

Maybe what we mean to say is this 1 short sentence that WRECKED me to the core from my journal:

“When you are praying for what YOU REALLY WANT you will not be distracted.”  –Herbert McCabe

Ouch. Do I really desire what GOD wants? Am I praying according to HIS will? Am I really begging HIM to SHOW UP?

“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”   [James 5.16]

  1. “Ouch” is right! And we’re all ADD when it comes to prayer … we want to ADD our own desires to God’s plan.
