A leaders finest day.

In china campus, Devotional, vision on August 7, 2008 at 12:15 pm

There is nothing greater when you as a leader casts VISION and it comes to pass. Knowing that GOD alone makes this VISION happen, when it does, it is one of your FINEST DAYS.

Some recent WINS for our team:

Last week we needed a double offering due to our lack of giving at the ONE SERVICE outdoor event which was one of the most amazing days of my life. AND OUR PEOPLE RESPONDED.

In 3 days I leave for CHINA to lead, train, encourage and baptize new believers. This is our small part of fulfilling the GREAT COMMISSION. I can say that I never imagined when we started we would be doing such things.

THE STICKS
conference is off and pretty much on fire to sell out early. Can’t wait to connect with everyone!

As one of the LEADERS at NEW HOPE…seeing a vision from GOD fulfilled is a day that should be celebrated, not just expected. THANK YOU NEW HOPE and beyond for your commitment to the vision and mission that GOD has places on us.

So…no matter where you live out your calling, whether at a church, a cubicle, a desk learning, or wherever God has you…what is your vision, and how have YOU seen GOD work. Let me know.

excuses.

In leadership in a small to medium sized town, overcoming excuses on August 6, 2008 at 3:41 pm

Did an interview with TUCKER HIBBS who has a podcast called the Little Big Church Podcast. Great site, great guy, doing great things, except that we had to re-record the WHOLE THING!

Anyway…that’s what happens in the STICKS with technology. Tucker asked me about excuses people and Pastors in small towns make. That was easy. I have heard and made many:

1. No Money (Welcome to the real world…does anyone have that stuff? we started a long process beginning with FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY for our peeps. And then learn to cast a Biblical view of money and cast a COMPELLING Vision.)

2. No Staff (Well…CREATE some through mentoring! Be creative. Take risks.)

3. No Time for “all that stuff” (Please start prioritizing better and ONLY DO THAT WHICH ONLY YOU CAN DO!!!!!) That was a 5 exclamation sentence.

4. Not Sure Where to Start or How to Do Whatever (GO LEARN! Read, explore, network. I was a loser leader before I started pouring my life to becoming a life-long learner…and no, I am not that great yet, but am making less STUPID decisions as of late…I think…)

5. Spiritual Warfare (Yes, I believe in this and pray against it ALL the time. But I will not make this an excuse for my short-comings because my GOD is GREATER than Satan and HE ALWAYS WINS!)

Be BLESSED and have HIS PEACE today!

a question i should ask more often.

In Ashland Campus, china campus, prayer on August 5, 2008 at 12:19 pm

I don’t ask this as often as I should…but could I ask you to PRAY EARNESTLY for MYSELF, TIFFANY and CHRISTIAN (he is 9 and amped about going with us) this week?

We leave for CHINA in 6 days to be with the people from our CHINA CAMPUS, we will be BAPTIZING several of them, we will also be talking to many from the underground church and will also meet with and train some pastors.

If that isn’t CRAZY enough…I have 2 outside projects that come due this week (of ALL weeks) that are very PRESSURE loaded for both TIFFANY and I.

To complicate matters: We had 2 out of 3 people on our leadership team for the ASHLAND CAMPUS start full-time last week…so that gave me 2 weeks to transfer all of what we need to transfer, because when I return, I am back for 3 days, then on vacation for 2 weeks. (There was no other way to schedule this trip). So yes, I return with 7 days to go prior to LAUNCH in ASHLAND! (Glad we have a great team!)

Lots of pressure this week…so please pray that GOD will sort it ALL out…I am GIVING this to HIM.

I will be trying to VIDEO BLOG via You Tube, USTREAM, or Mogulus on a regular basis. I believe the Chineese government blocks BLOGGER and most all blogs. I will at least be blogging via cell phone and someone will be posting what is transpiring on my trip…so STAY TUNED FOR DETAILS…I know many of you want to know what we are up to when we are there.

It is my goal to post something whether here or on a web streaming site every few days. I will not know what I can do until I get over there and will start posting around TUESDAY of next week at the latest LORD-WILLING.

I also give a HUGE shout out to those who helped finance this trip to our China Campus…you are amazing! And yes, we personally purchased Christian’s ticket in case you were wondering :)

So…for those of you who didn’t think that a small town church could be RADICAL in fulfilling the GREAT COMMISSION…here we go. A glimpse into our small piece of the MISSION Christ has called us to. (And if you wonder how this can happen in a small town…go HERE.)
GET YO’ KNEES DIRTY and THANK YOU!

did you ever wonder what i was like when i was a child?

In Watch This on August 3, 2008 at 12:12 pm

Not sure if I should thank JEFF or start planning my revenge which would of course top his efforts…but while they were taking FLOOD RELIEF to my hometown in Indiana, Selph shot some NEW HOPE exclusive footage asking people what I was like when I was a child…I am sure it will make you grin.

blessings and peace!

an old memory that you must SEE and HEAR.

In Family, marriage on August 1, 2008 at 4:01 am

I used to really listen to country a lot. No, really I did. Still have some on my play list.

Anyway, John Michael Montgomery had a song that I used to croon to my bride…

” But she thinks I could rope the moon
In her eyes there is nothing I can’t do
When I think it’s out of reach
She’s the reason I still try
She thinks I could rope the moon…”

Hence, the pic above is the proof that after almost 12 years of marriage I am getting closer.

I really would give anything for my bride…Even if it means roping the moon.

I would LAY MY LIFE DOWN for her.
I love you babe…many people don’t know that if it weren’t for you…New Hope would not have happened. You mean the world to me. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!

ps:: this weekend @ New Hope will be off the chain…don’t miss it! I am pumped to be back in the saddle! see ya soon!

blessings and peace!
