Most of us have figured out I hope that happiness can’t be purchased. Looking at how well people manage their money might just be a better question as to happiness in regards to finances.

Of course the CHURCH answer is Jesus will bring complete happiness, but I know a bunch of Christians and they are some of the most unhappy people I have met.

I think it is this simple: OBEDIENCE = HAPPINESS

Let’s converse about that this weekend as we continue our series…WHY?

blessings and peace, and please, can the kids actually go to school sometime this week? (for you tropical people…the snow finally came).

  1. Charles,I’m interested in your thoughts on the poor, community and happiness.I’ve seen in many studies [especially global studies] that community naturally forms in the poorest areas. This is due to the fact that they need one-another for hope, help, and protection. In these studies the poorest of the poor also rank the happiest. Do you think that community [belonging] may have as much to do with happiness, as obedience?Just a thought…Grace and peace!

  2. Of course! This “study” shows that. Obedience to Biblical standards are huge. There are many. One of the areas we are called to as Christ-followers is community, but yes, that is just ONE area. When I said “obedience” it was not at all in regards to $$$ only. The counsel of God’s Word is way bigger than that…The more of God’s vision we put into our lives obediently, the “happier” I believe we will be!My little comment will be expanded this weekend…stay tuned!

  3. suggestion for a new series…..I was reading 2 Thessalonians 2. Just thought it related to alot of stuff going on right now w/ opra ext.and very important to stand firm. So i guess it would be “The Man of Lawlessness”

  4. suggestion on sermon. John 10 “The Shepherd and His Flock” how the sheppard KNOWS his sheep and they know the Shepherds voice…..i guess it falls in w/ 2 thessalonians 2.
