ghosts

In New Hope Stuff; Teaching Series on November 7, 2007 at 2:21 am

Our new series, GHOST HUNTERS (we are teaching about the supernatural, death, spirits, angels, demons, etc.) is in full swing. “Ghost” refers to anything supernatural, so don’t send me hate mail. You know…when Jesus walked on the water the disciples thought he was a…ghost… right. So anything supernatural we are lumping into this common tag for series reasons. So we need your help!

Go to www.newhopewired.tv and click on the “Ghost Stories” link to share your story of the supernatural, angels, demons, unexplained, etc. WE NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU! We are looking for stories (you can be anonymous) and experiences that will help shape our teachings.

And if you are in the area or on the web…you won’t want to miss this week as we explore the world of spirits, ghosts, visitations from deceased loved ones, and an interview with someone who speaks with the dead. Last week we saw over 200 more people at New Hope (just at our Loudonville Campus alone) than over the past few weeks! We also saw many, many people trust Christ for the first time. It was amazing. Truly God was at work this weekend in a huge way. So…hope you share your story, please…and that you bring a friend or 10 this weekend!

Side note: Please be in prayer for our capital campaign banquet this Thursday Night in Wooster for our Wooster Campus (info? check out the web) and for our Pledge Weekend this weekend. If you don’t know we had a $1.3M building donated to us for $20,000 and all we have to do is renovate it. With a bunch of new people and new Christians, only God could move so rapidly! The things that are happening are just amazing. It is so great to be a part of this mission with all of you!

Who said that God couldn’t work in a huge way in a small town? We serve an amazing God, who moves and works in big ways no matter your language, education, skin color, economic conditions…He just sees a lost world in need of Him. I pray that energizes us to get out and get at it. Most people we rub shoulders with need a touch from the Savior.

blessings and peace.

i love this team.

So…from time to time our team from both campuses goes out for a day on the town (in the big red church hooptie van courtesy of our Wooster Campus)…

This past week we all took a break and went to the South Market Bistro in Wooster, OH…one of mine and my Wife’s favorite spots…amazing French food, and then went bowling. But not your usual bowling. Each frame was something different like: bowl opposite handed, eyes closed, from the ball returner (don’t tell anyone we did that), spin around 7 times, sitting down, on 1 food, kick it, and our favorite…the football hike.

We had such a good time…I love our team, they are amazing. So for those of you who lead teams…don’t forget that fellowship and fun are critical to the team building process. Remember: Divert Daily, Withdraw Weekly, Abandon Annually? If not, see this post from me. (It applies to not just you, but your teams) You have to take time to rest and roll gutter balls or whatever floats your canoe. (Loudonville lingo there…)

So anyway…our friendly Youth Pastor Tom shot this video of my amazing shot during the frame where I was hike bowling…hope you enjoy! No one could duplicate this shot if they tried…

And by the way…you should check out the Youthscape Project over in the Children’s/Youth Space…the new windows and stage look amazing! We plan to open the first few weeks into January.

We’ll see you this weekend with like 5 of your friends as we explore the other world that is out there with our new series Ghost Hunter. Also check out our main web site next week as we ask people to post their stories of encounters with the supernatural and afterlife.

blessings and peace.
